India Couture Week 2016

The Indian Couture Week 2016 which took place at the newly revamped bekanar’s house in Delhi is reminiscent to a fabled dynasty where kings and queens from different countries are presenting themselves in the unprecedented royal attire. However, this royal game is a united creation by eminent fashion masters of India including Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Anita Dongre, Rahul Mishra, Manav Gangwan and Anamika Khanna.

With Deepika Padukone as the show stopper and Fawad Khan as the show opener, Manish Malhotra presented his ‘The Persian Story’ designs collection that lets us feel the spirit of Iranian culture and transports to the land of Persia for a while. When everything is enthralling in his creations from intricate embroideries to the grand colors, Deepika is bound to capture everyone’s eyes with her imperial lehenga that has been paired up with a drop shoulder blouse.

Kangana Ranaut relived in her renowned film name ‘Queen’ one more time as she walked for creative silhouettes master Manav Gangwani. He put before the audience some thrill and aesthetic through the collection ‘Begum-e-Jannat’ that have the fusion of heavy embroideries and mirror works.

While Romantic ivory hues weighing heavy embroidery designs from Anamika Khanna made the runway to start sizzle up, Sonam Kapoor looked like a soothing painting in the show front row as she picked one ensemble from Anamika’s latest collection.

Drawn by Russian aristocracy and Netflix series ‘Tudors’, Rohit Bal came up with a collection named ‘Kehkashan’, in which the commanding white, black and red colored attire married the opulent florals designs and bold patterns.

Holding various dimensions of luxury, this show has also witnessed the signature bridal collection from Anita Dongre too.
