1. Who/what inspired you to dive into this field?
My fashion designing journey started with an immense interest towards hand looms and latent desire to create new like my mother. Designing my own attire to serving an extensive range of creations to people across many areas is a radical shift from 6 years of dentistry. Fashion designing always inspires me day by day. Though I was a dentist my love for fashion never went down, gradually I started listening to my heart and the rest is what you can see now.

2. What is fashion in your perspective?
You don’t need to turn the way shimmering with the bling embraced attire while you’re walking down the road on the name of fashion. Confidence is the biggest weapon everyone ever have to strike down any fear, strut to let your inner-self roar and be a master in carrying anything with greater levels of confidence that is even called as ‘just’.

3. What is your passion?
I love to do what I love and designing is something that has been entrenched in every nerve of mine since I come to know it’s reigning my thoughts. I’m inevitably passionate about designing hand-looms and how to make them beautiful.

4. What would one thing about a design catches your attention?

The world today mostly look for ostentatious dressing that is heavy and colorful but in my case it takes an opposite turn, I’m fond of dull drapes that have the innate nature of being dull and Matt. Browns, greys and other shades despite called as muted colors, they are my love and I gaze at designs that are born with such.

5. How do you stay up to date regarding trends?
I have had never touched the hot button ‘trends’. It’s not my notion of staying update to trends and paying heed to someone’s designs where as I own my personal dictionary for designing clothes that is independent of trends. It’s all about what hits the mind for the time and that is what you see on my creations.

My dad, mom, my husband, friends and my clientele are my biggest strengths and their role is quite big enough in my life. Their foster is abundant, without which I wouldn’t have achieved this.

10. Describe a typical day in your life as a fashion designer
Though am not a person who falls into the early to bed and early to rise department, I organize things to do Surya namaskara for atleast 20 minutes in every morning followed by offering prayer for goddess Durga. I decorate Durga maa with a variety of attire and flowers, I love doing it. Rest of the day? Duds, designs, lots of thoughts and meeting clients.

Would you like to contribute any style tip to our readers?
